Our members are satisfied with the MLS system as our survey indicates. However, it’s inevitable that one day the CCIMLS will undergo a software upgrade – whether that means a better system or a new system all together. You do it with your phone every couple years, you do it with your computer’s operating system and you also do it with every household appliance. Technology gets better and that facilitates the need to upgrade.
While we do not anticipate a technology upgrade happening soon, we need to be prepared in case that software update gets forced upon us. Actions have transpired in recent months requiring us to be prepared: this includes the National Association of REALTORS® partnership to create Project Upstream and AMP.
As such, it is a prudent business decision to be prepared for several possible scenarios, including: The possibility that Rappattoni is unable to accept Project Upstream listings or they have a significant change brought on by the recent passing of their CEO, Andy Rappattoni. We do not anticipate switching MLS systems, but do want to identify a possible replacement and so, CCIMLS will undergo a search for MLS providers in the 1st quarter of 2016. We promise to keep you updated on the progress, include a wide range of perspectives and create a transition plan for when that day comes.
