About CCIAOR & CCIMLS

REALTORS® are more than just real estate agents. They belong to the institution of an Association of REALTORS® and only those members are allowed to call themselves REALTORS®.

When you join the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS®, you are also joining the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. The organizations operate within a three-way agreement and each have its own value proposition and services.

Key Documents

The Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS®, a 501c6 organization, is governed by a 13-member Board of Directors elected through an open election process by its membership.

The Association wholly owns the Cape Cod & Islands Multiple Listing Service, Inc. it has its own 13-member Board of Directors. Participants (Designated REALTORS®) make up the members of the Multiple Listing Service and have voting privileges and all decisions by the CCIMLS Board of Directors are subject to review by the CCIAOR Board of Directors.

A Multiple Listing Service exists to provide its members with the offer of cooperation and compensation for real property listed by another member.

Committees, Working Groups & Task Forces

CCIAOR’s bylaws create several standing committees and gives the Board of Directors the ability to create specific special committees, groups and task forces as needed to accomplish the objectives in the Association’s Strategic Plan and the CCIMLS’s Business Plan. Below is a list of committees, working groups and task forces for 2015. Discover how you can get involved, here.

Working Groups & Task Forces

  • MLS Advisory Group
    This is an open group, which means any member can join in and attend the meetings, and meets quarterly to provide feedback to CCIMLS on the Rules & Regulations.
  • Professional Development Group
    The Professional Development Group provides input and guidance for professional development programs and non-CE education and training. The committee provides feedback on speakers and timely topics for association programming.
    Committee Composition
    Anyone who is interested can attend the meetings as the group membership is open throughout the year.
    Time Commitment
    Group meets as needed at least 2 weeks in advance of the meeting — typically 4 to 6 times per year.
  • Government Affairs Group
    The Government Affairs Group analyzes and monitors local and legislative issues regarding the real estate industry and the protection of private property ownership, and makes recommendations on the public policy of the Association. The committee also serves as the fund-raising arm for the REALTORS® Political Action Committee.
    Committee Composition
    Anyone who is interested can attend the meetings as the group membership is open throughout the year.
    Time Commitment
    Group meets every other month. The meeting date and time will be established at the start of the year for the entire year.
  • YPN Planning Group
    The YPN Planning Group plans the YPN events, slated to be held quarterly. The mission of the events is to network with a purpose, give back to the community, and become a better REALTOR®.
    Committee Composition
    Anyone who is interested can attend the meetings as the group membership is open throughout the year.
    Time Commitment
    Group meets as needed to plan activities and events; typically 4 to 6 times per year.
