CCIAOR & CCIMLS Joint Membership
This joint membership is for those wanting to become a member of the Cape & Islands Association of REALTORS® and a member of Cape & Islands Multiple Listing Service. Note that the Broker in Charge of an office will need to be a REALTOR® and join CCIMLS as a participant prior to other individuals at the office location joining.
This application is for those wanting to become a member with the Cape & Islands Association of REALTORS® only. These individuals desire to use the REALTOR® brand and get access to the benefits of CCIAOR membership but do not desire access to the Cape & Islands Multiple Listing Service. Note that the Broker in Charge of an office, as well as all licensed individuals at the office, will need to become REALTORS® if they are not already.
This application is for those who want access to the Cape Cod & Islands Multiple Listing Service, but who are already a REALTOR® at another local association in Massachusetts or a neighboring state. A letter of good standing from your local Association must be submitted at the time of application. Note the Broker in Charge of the office will need to join CCIMLS as a participant prior to any agents at the office location joining. Additionally, every licensee at the office location must also join CCIMLS.
Real Estate offices that are current members with the Cape & Islands Multiple Listing Service have the ability to create administrative accounts for their office. Individuals with administrative accounts have the ability to manage listings for individual agents at an office or for entire office locations.
Hold your license under a broker who is a REALTOR® or be the Broker-in-Charge (Designated REALTOR®) of your own firm
If a REALTOR® previously, left your Association in good standing
Requirements for CCIMLS membership
Hold an active MA salesperson or broker’s license
Be a REALTOR® in good standing in Massachusetts or a contiguous state (if not a member with CCIAOR, you will have to provide a letter of good standing from your local association)
All active real estate licensees at your office location must also join CCIMLS

THE MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
There is a $100 application fee for joining CCIAOR or CCIMLS; the application fee is waived for any individual who is already a member of CCIAOR or CCIMLS. For those joining CCIAOR, upon submitting your application, you will be given provisional membership and access. From that date, you have 180 days to complete Code of Ethics and CCIAOR New Member Orientation to become a permanent member.
CODE OF ETHICS
All REALTOR® applicants must take an NAR-approved Code of Ethics class within 180 days of submitting an application. The class is offered in-person at CCIAOR or can be completed online.
Note that if you are applying for CCIMLS membership only and are already a REALTOR®, you are not required to take this for membership.
All new CCIAOR members must complete a New Member Orientation class that is held every other month at CCIAOR. This three-hour class provides you an overview of the tools, services and rules of both organizations. This class must be taken within 180 days of submitting a New Member Application.
New CCIMLS members may also be required to complete new member training.
This class is a practical guide to practicing real estate and is designed to keep you out of trouble. This class is not mandatory, but highly recommend for new CCIAOR REALTOR® members. It takes you beyond what you learned in the real estate licensing or broker course and walks through different aspects of a real estate transaction. This four-hour course is offered every quarter and includes 2 hours of Massachusetts continuing education credit. Click here for the course calendar.
