2020 CCIAOR and CCIMLS Board of Directors Election Process Announced

CCIAOR is looking for engaged REALTORS® wanting to get more involved in the Association and MLS to fill open positions on our Board of Directors. The Board sets the strategy, values and direction of the organization.

If you are a dynamic, strategic thinker who is passionate about real estate and strive to serve the industry, the Association, the MLS, and the Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard real estate community, please consider applying for one of the positions.

Here is an overview of the process, requirements, and the open positions:

Petition and Candidate Information

To become a candidate:

  • To run for a CCIAOR board position you must submit a petition signed by at least 25 CCIAOR REALTORS®.
  • To run for an MLS board position you must submit a petition signed by at least 5 CCIMLS Participants.
  • Note: If you would like to run for the same seat on the CCIAOR and CCIMLS Boards, you will need to complete both petitions linked above. Currently, all members of the Board serve as a director for both CCIAOR and CCIMLS.
  • All petitions must be received no later than 5 p.m., Friday, September 13th, 2019, to the Membership Secretary, Marissa Cyr, by email to mcyr@cciaor.com or delivered to the Member Service Center (22 Mid Tech Drive, W. Yarmouth).

Open CCIAOR Board Positions

  • Elected annually for a one-year term with automatic accession to President in 2021 and Immediate Past President in 2022;
  • Serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors;
  • Must have served on the CCIAOR / CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the last 3 years.
  • Elected annually for a one-year term;
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Chairs the Finance Committee;
  • Must have served on the CCIAOR / CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the last 3 years.

  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three-year term from 2020 through 2022;
  • Must be associated with a firm with ten (10) or fewer members of CCIAOR.
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three-year term from 2020 through 2022;
  • Must be associated with a firm with eleven (11) to thirty (30) members of CCIAOR.
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three-year term from 2020 through 2022;
  • Must be associated with a firm with thirty-one (31) or more members of CCIAOR.

Open CCIMLS Board Positions

  • Elected annually for a one-year term with automatic accession to President in 2021 and Immediate Past President in 2022;
  • Serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors;
  • Must have served on the CCIAOR / CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the last 3 years.
  • Elected annually for a one-year term;
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Chairs the Finance Committee;
  • Must have served on the CCIAOR / CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the last 3 years.
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three-year term from 2020 through 2022;
  • Must be associated with a firm with ten (10) or fewer participants and subscribers of CCIMLS.
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three-year term from 2020-2022;
  • Must be associated with a firm with eleven (11) to thirty (30) participants and subscribers of CCIMLS.
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three-year term from 2020-2022;
  • Must be associated with a firm with thirty-one (31) or more participants and subscribers of CCIMLS.

Candidate Eligibility

  • Currently be a REALTOR® member of CCIAOR in good standing
  • Have been a CCIAOR REALTOR® for the last 3 years
  • Candidates for CCIMLS board positions must currently be a Participant or Subscriber of CCIMLS
  • Have no finding of REALTOR® Code of Ethics Violations in the last three (3) years
  • Within the past twenty-four (24) months: not served as Immediate Past President, not resigned from the Board of Directors and not served more than two (2) consecutive terms as a Director
  • Candidates for the Large, Medium and Small Director seats must be associated with a firm with the appropriate number of members. To confirm your eligibility for a director seat, contact mcyr@cciaor.com or 508-957-4344.
  • Candidates for Officer Positions (President-Elect and Secretary/Treasurer) must have served on the CCIAOR or CCIMLS Board of Directors or the Finance Committee in the past three (3) years

Election Timeline

  1. Petitions must be submitted to the Membership Secretary by Friday, September 13th at 5 p.m.
  2. List of qualified candidates is sent to the Board of Directors and Election Committee by October 4th
  3. List of qualified candidates is sent to CCIAOR members, setting forth the time, place, and other pertinent details of the meeting, and the election process, to elect Officers and Directors by October 8th
  4. A Meet the Candidates event (or events) will be held between October 9th and November 2nd for membership to attend
  5. Electronic voting opens on November 4th
  6. The Election of Officers and Directors will take place at Annual Meeting on November 13th
  7. The Installation of Officers and Directors will be held on November 22nd at the Oyster Harbors Clubs in Osterville
