Connect with Respect: Disability Awareness & Understanding

For this June’s Connect with Respect Session, the CCIAOR Diversity Committee is excited to help members expand their understanding of what a disability is and learn strategies to better communicate and work with people with disabilities. We will be joined by CORD, the Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled, a local non-profit whose mission is to advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. Many people associate a disability with someone who is in a wheelchair, who is blind, or who is deaf, but as you will learn in this session, the reality is so much more.
