March 31, 2020 Legal Updates, Government & Community Affairs, COVID-19
The Department of Public Health issued guidance for short-term rentals, restricting the rental of properties for 31-days or less to COVID-19 support until May 4.
REALTORS® have access to several programs to help protect them and their business. From legal assistance for cases to providing legal guidance, CCIAOR, as well as the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, have your back.
CCIAOR maintains a Legal Action Fund to provide assistance to protect and defend member interests. The fund, through an application process, provides financial assistance to support litigation of significance to the Association or MLS, including matters relevant to the practice of real estate, the operation of real estate associations, ownership and use of real estate, and private property rights.
The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® Legal Hotline offers authorized callers access to staff attorneys who can assist members with questions about current state and federal laws and regulations, permissible business practices, and important court rulings affecting real estate professionals in Massachusetts. Only authorized representatives of the broker may call the hotline. Contact the MAR Legal Hotline.
