Connect with Respect: Navigating Fair Housing in Real Estate

The CCIAOR Diversity & Inclusion Committee is excited to announce a new virtual series to help members get comfortable with uncomfortable conversations and be able to connect with respect to clients and each other.

We are kicking off the series with a discussion of Fairhaven - NAR’s new interactive simulation where you use your fair housing knowledge to navigate challenging real estate scenarios.

To join us, please complete the Fairhaven simulation before the meeting (it’s very interactive and takes about an hour). Then, bring your thoughts and feedback from your experience with Fairhaven to our virtual meeting: What surprised you? What made you uncomfortable? We will dive in together and discuss what we learned and how we can apply those lessons in our lives and real estate business.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend - we hope you will join us!

This course counts as a Professional Development Elective for CCRES. Note, you must be logged in via Zoom and attend for the full hour.

The ‘Connect with Respect’ series will help members better understand the impacts of unintentional discrimination in real estate and on real people’s lives, and to learn about our own implicit biases and how they can effect how we treat clients and one another. These informal virtual gatherings will foster open and honest communication around diversity and inclusion in our industry and communities so we can work toward treating everyone with fairness and respect.
