Emeritus/Lifetime Membership is available at the local, state and national levels with different requirements for each.
CCIAOR Emeritus Membership
Members who qualify for CCIAOR Emeritus membership will have future local (CCIAOR) dues waived and will retain all other rights and privileges of membership. CCIAOR members may qualify for CCIAOR Emeritus status if they:
- Have held membership in the Cape Cod & Islands Association as a REALTOR®, for a cumulative period of forty (40) years; AND
- Have completed at least five (5) years of service via membership on the CCIAOR Board of Directors, or any CCIAOR committee, task force or group. The five (5) years are not required to have been continuous.

MAR Lifetime Membership
Any individual who shall have been a MAR REALTOR® member in good standing, and/or who has been active in staff service, for not less than thirty (30) years, and has reached the age of sixty-five (65), may be designated a Life Member by the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting solely in recognition of their demonstration of volunteerism (REALTOR®) and/or professionalism (staff) for the State Association.
The following is a guideline for the Association to consider regarding what adequate volunteerism would be to receive Life Membership (an honor system will be imposed for verification of information which pre-dates association records): At least five (5) years of service via MAR Board of Directors membership, committee
membership, Task Force, officer position, or other MAR related volunteer efforts. The five (5) years are not required to have been continuous.

NAR Emeritus Membership
A REALTOR® Member who has held membership in the National Association of REALTORS® for a cumulative period of 40 years, and has completed at least one year of service at the National level, is eligible for NAR REALTOR® Emeritus status. NAR Emeritus members will have National dues waived and will also be exempt from the NAR Code of Ethics training requirement.
