Richard Waystack Named CCIAOR's 2020 REALTOR of the Year

Richard Waystack has been named the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® 2020 REALTOR® of the Year.

Richard, a longtime leader and member of CCIAOR for 34 years, currently serves as the National President of the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC), a NAR Affiliate organization that offers the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation. It is a rare feat for one of our members to hold a position of such national prominence, and Richard has used his position to show REALTORS® from around the world what they are and what they can be. He also serves as a Director for the Cape and Islands on the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Board of Directors, and most recently served on the CCIAOR Governance Task Force, assisting in revamping the organization’s governance structure.

“Richard consistently leads at every level he’s on, whether on the state association’s Board of Directors, in the Town of Harwich, on REALTOR® committees and work groups, or leading and mentoring REALTORS® in his own office. There is nobody who better exemplifies who and what we are as REALTORS® than Richard Waystack - he should probably be our REALTOR® of the Decade. Outside of NAR's elected leadership, there might be no more prominent REALTOR® volunteer nationwide than Richard,” said CCIAOR President Greg Kiely.

A Harwich resident, Richard is the Executive Broker in the Jack Conway & Co Harwich Port office. He is a valued mentor to agents in his office, especially new REALTORS®, a stalwart at home and in the community, and is a trusted advisor to his clients. At the local level, Richard serves on several local government boards in Harwich, and has a longstanding commitment to nonprofits in his community having served as a longtime volunteer and lead fundraiser at the Family Pantry of Cape Cod and the Housing Assistance Corporation.

He is a nationally sought-after speaker, trainer, leader and host in the REALTOR® community, presenting at conferences and to offices around the country looking to improve their skills. As president of the RRC, Richard serves as an ambassador for Cape Cod real estate everywhere he goes.

The REALTOR® of the Year, given annually by CCIAOR, serves as its most prestigious award and fosters a spirit of competition and cooperation among REALTORS® to contribute fresh thinking and a productive effort to further the Association’s mission of embracing change and empowering expertise among its members. The award is given out yearly, by a panel of REALTOR® peers, for contributions to the industry over the last 18 months that combines efforts at the local, state, and national association and also business success and community involvement.
