A Cape Cod native, Sunny Fellman’s deep roots help her connect with clients as a knowledgeable resource and have created a deep sense of service and giving back to the community. She is being honored with a 2021 CCIAOR Good Neighbor Award for her work with Amplify POC (People of Color) Cape Cod.
Founded in 2020 by Tara Vargas Wallace, Amplify POC is an organization dedicated to closing the racial wealth gap on Cape Cod by promoting businesses owned by persons of color and advocating for civil rights and social action to address systemic racism. Amplify POC hosts a list of businesses owned by people of color on their website to raise awareness of these businesses and help the community connect with and support them. Sunny has been involved in Amplify POC since day one, helping the organization make connections in the community and get established in the matter of a few months, helping to bring the organization’s goals and ideas to life. Her involvement in Amplify POC mirrors the work she does as a REALTOR®, where helping people achieve the goal of homeownership is one of the main ways to close the racial wealth gap.
“Her name fits her spirit.” says Vargas Wallace. “It so much describes who she is. She is just a gift to this world. She is a huge part of what makes Amplify work and how we’re able to get out in the community. I don’t know what I would do without her!”
Sunny, the Associate Sales Manager of the William Raveis Chatham Office, has been active in volunteering for CCIAOR and other community organizations for several years. She has served as the Chairperson of the Community and Member Engagement Committee, Chairperson of the Grievance Committee, Chairperson of the YPN, a member of the Finance Committee, and currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the CCIAOR Diversity & Inclusion Committee and as a member of the Professional Standards and Leadership Development committees. She was also honored as the REALTOR® of the Year in 2018.
“Being a REALTOR®, to me, means holding myself to a higher standard by being as professional as possible and holding myself accountable for how I conduct myself and my business.” says Sunny. “Being a Good Neighbor means being empathetic and understanding to people in our community, and then taking action in some way to support them.”
