New Designated REALTOR® (DR) Member Requirements
Welcome to the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® (CCIAOR)! We are happy you are here and look forward to being part of your journey as a REALTOR®.
As the Designated REALTOR® (DR) for your office, you are required to complete several requirements within 120 days of your join date. The purpose of these requirements is to increase knowledge, professionalism, and the preparedness of Designated REALTORS® in the ever-evolving real estate market. If you do not meet these requirements within the 120-day time frame, your membership, as well as any affiliated agents, will be suspended until the requirements are fulfilled, so make sure to get these on your calendar!

New Member Orientation - 3 Hour Class
At New Member Orientation, you will have an opportunity to meet our staff and leadership, learn about what we do as an Association, and get tips on how to access and maximize your membership. When your application was processed, you were signed up to attend our next virtual New Member Orientation.

Brokerage Liability - 2 Hour Class
This in-depth class discusses the wide range of liabilities associated with running a brokerage and provides you with the information and tools you need as an owner or manager to avoid legal headaches.
You have 2 options for completing this requirement within 120 days of your join date:

Note currently the on-demand classes do not meet state requirements for offering continuing education credits. - Register to attend one of the live virtual classes we have scheduled on our calendar below.
You will receive 2 continuing education credits for taking the live class.
Office Policies 101 - 2 Hour Class
Having up to date and legally sound policies and procedures is critical to the success of any real estate company. Learn the fundamentals of creating office policies and the key elements that owners and managers should be considered as part of their brokerage's policy manual.
You have 2 options for completing this requirement within 120 days of your join date:

You will receive 2 continuing education credits for taking the live class.
Code of Ethics - 2.5 hour CE Class
If you have not already completed your Code of Ethics training for the 2022-2024 cycle, you will need to meet this requirement within 120 days of your join date.
If you have already completed the Code of Ethics through another location, please submit a copy of your certificate to education@cciaor.com. If you have already submitted your certificate or have recently completed the Code of Ethics with CCIAOR (between January 1, 2022 and now) you can disregard this step as you already meet the requirement.
You have 2 options for completing this requirement within 120 days of your join date:
1.) Take the MAR CE Version of the course On-Demand
2.) Take the course live in-person or online with CCIAOR.
Fair Housing Requirement
Fair Housing Requirement - must be completed within 120 days of join date
CCIAOR updated our bylaws in March of 2022 to raise the level of professionalism in our region by adding a new Fair Housing bylaw continuing education requirement in order to maintain their membership in good standing with CCIAOR. This new requirement helps our membership stay informed about Fair Housing laws so that they may better serve their clients. As a new member, it's imperative that you understand Fair Housing and how it relates to your everyday business.

Fundamentals of Cape Cod Real Estate Requirement - must be completed within 120 days of join date
This course covers what makes practicing real estate on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket unique from practicing anywhere else. It focuses on the issues that you encounter in real estate here in our region. This course takes those issues, situations, and unique characteristics and teaches you what you need to know to work through them effectively on behalf of your clients. CCIAOR wants you to be as prepared as possible as you enter into our local real estate market!
