2027 CCIAOR & CCIMLS Board of Directors Election Process

Step Into Leadership: Shape the Future of CCIAOR

As CCIAOR and CCIMLS enter an exciting new chapter, we are seeking engaged, forward-thinking members to serve on the 2027 Board of Directors and help shape the future of our organizations.

Candidates for the CCIAOR Board have the option of either submitting a petition with signatures or applying directly to the Leadership Development Committee (LDC) for consideration. Candidates interested in the CCIMLS Board of Directors must submit an application to the LDC. Applications are due to the LDC by August 14th, 2026 and petitions must be submitted to the Membership Secretary by September 19th, 2026.

If you are interested in serving but would like to get more information about the role and commitment before applying, or if you would like to nominate someone else to serve, please reach out to Danielle Smith. A member of staff or the LDC will reach out to you or your nominee to discuss service on the Board and answer any questions.

CCIAOR Board of Directors

CCIAOR is governed by a volunteer, member-elected Board of Directors. The 13-member Board of Directors provides stewardship in alignment with CCIAOR's strategic plan. Through sound, ethical, and legal governance, along with responsible financial oversight, the Board guides the organization toward a sustainable future while ensuring it has the resources needed to advance its mission and priorities.

The Board of Directors is composed of 4 elected CCIAOR Officers (President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, and Treasurer), 4 elected regional representatives, 2 elected brokerage-size representatives, and 3 elected at large REALTOR® Members.

Open CCIAOR Board Positions

  • Elected annually for a one-year term with automatic accession to President in 2027 and Immediate Past President in 2028;
  • Serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors;
  • Must have served on the CCIAOR Board of Directors, on any subsidiary Board of Directors, the CCIAOR Finance Committee, or as a MAR or NAR Director in the last five (5) years
  • Elected annually for a one-year term;
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee and Chairs the Finance Committee;
  • Must have served on the CCIAOR Board of Directors, on any subsidiary Board of Directors, the CCIAOR Finance Committee, or as a MAR or NAR Director in the last five (5) years
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three (3) year term from 2027-2029;
  • Must be affiliated with a brokerage located in the Upper Cape area (Falmouth, Mashpee, Bourne, or Sandwich).
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three (3) year term from 2027-2029;
  • Must be affiliated with a brokerage located in the Mid-Cape area (Yarmouth, Dennis, or Barnstable).
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three (3) year term from 2027-2029;
  • Must be affiliated with a brokerage in Dukes County or Nantucket County.
  • Serves as a member of the Board of Directors for a three (3) year term from 2027-2029;
  • Must be affiliated with a brokerage with fifty-one (51) or more affiliated licensed brokers, salespersons or appraisers in Massachusetts.

Candidate Eligibility

You must meet the following eligibility criteria to serve on the CCIAOR Board of Directors:

  • Currently, be a REALTOR® member of CCIAOR in good standing;
  • Have been a CCIAOR REALTOR® for the last 3 years;
  • Have no REALTOR® Code of Ethics Violations in the last 3 years;
  • Have not served as CCIMLS Immediate Past President in the past 24 months;
  • Have not resigned from the CCIMLS Board of Directors in the past 24 months;
  • Have not served on the Board for more than six (6) consecutive years without a 24-month hiatus;
  • For Officer seats (President-Elect and Treasurer), must have served on the CCIAOR Board of Directors, on any subsidiary Board of Directors, the CCIAOR Finance Committee, or as a MAR or NAR Director in the last five (5) years.

To Become a Candidate

If you would like to become a candidate for the CCIAOR Board of Directors, you have 2 options to do so:

Option 1: Submit an application to the Leadership Development Committee (LDC) by August 14th, 2026. The LDC will review all applications and conduct candidate interviews. The LDC will then place on the ballot for election by the members at least one eligible member for each open Officer and Director position. The LDC shall have the discretion to place additional candidates for any and all positions.

Option 2: Submit a petition signed by at least 25 CCIAOR REALTORS and submit to the Membership Secretary by September 19th, 2026. All eligible petitioned candidates will automatically be placed on the ballot for election by the members. The petition is linked below or can be accessed through your Remine Docs account. Electronic signatures are accepted.

CCIMLS Board of Directors

CCIMLS is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors appointed by the shareholder, the Cape Cod & Islands Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors. The CCIMLS Board ensures that the organization meets its mission of facilitating cooperation among real estate professionals and meets its goals of securing the future of the MLS, ensuring data integrity and completeness, and supporting its members.

The CCIMLS Board of Directors is composed of a President, four (4) At-Large Directors, and two (2) Industry Directors.

Open CCIMLS Board Positions

  • The Chair of the MLS Board of Directors shall be a two-year term (2027-2028) and serve as Chair of the corporation.
  • The CCIMLS Chair must either be a Participant or Subscriber of the CCIMLS in good standing. REALTOR® members with findings of Code of Ethics violations at CCIAOR or any other Association of REALTORS® within the three prior years are not eligible to serve.
  • At-Large Directors must either be Participants or Subscribers of the CCIMLS in good standing. REALTOR® members with findings of Code of Ethics violations at CCIAOR or any other Association of REALTORS® within the three prior years are not eligible to serve.
  • Two (2) At-Large Director seats are open serving two (2) year terms from 2027-2028.
  • Industry Directors are not Participants or Subscribers of the CCIMLS, but individuals who demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the governance or general operation of multiple listing services. Industry Directors serve a one (1) year term on the CCIMLS Board.
  • Two (2) Industry Director seats are open on the CCIMLS Board of Directors serving in 2027.

To Become a Candidate

To become a candidate for the CCIMLS Board, you must submit an application to the Leadership Development Committee (LDC) by August 14th, 2026. The LDC will review all applications and conduct candidate interviews. The LDC will present a slate of candidates for the CCIMLS Board to the CCIAOR Board of Directors for election at their annual meeting in November.
