MAR Charitable Foundation Grants

The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® (MAR) Charitable Foundation awards grants to 501c3 organizations that REALTOR® members work with to help those in need throughout Massachusetts. The Charitable Foundation’s Board of Trustees created this program in 2000 to encourage REALTOR® support for local non-profit groups and their initiatives to provide affordable housing, shelter, and other emergency care services within the Commonwealth. Application preference is for Massachusetts organizations helping Massachusetts residents. It is preferred that requesting organization has an established relationship with a local REALTOR® board and that REALTORS® are actively involved with requesting organization. Housing, homelessness, hunger and disaster relief have been the focus of the Foundation. In past years, grant awards have ranged from $500 to $1,500.

If you are involved with an organization that may be a good fit for a grant, please contact Events and Partnerships Director Patricia Pry for application details.

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) offers Placemaking Micro-Grants that fund the creation of new or improvement of existing outdoor public spaces and destinations in a community. Placemaking is a way to make your community a better place to live and work by transforming public spaces into vibrant community places. Placemaking projects could include public parks, trails and pedestrian paths, community gardens, playgrounds, fitness areas and dog parks - and more! Grant awards range from $500 up to $2,500 depending on the scope of the project. Placemaking can be undertaken by anyone in a community but what is often needed is someone to take the lead or initiative. Who better to do this than REALTORS® who are already engaged in their communities and know the neighborhoods and the properties, and are likely to know where to focus efforts to improve a place?

If you have an idea for a placemaking project, please contact CCIAOR Events and Partnerships Director Patricia Pry for grant application details.
